Cars by the Creek and Catfish Rodeo (Montevallo) Sept 5, 2009 Bring the family and enjoy food, music and more. Prizes awarded for top 20 cars and top 10 trucks. Registration 8 a.m.-11. Prizes awarded at 2 p.m.; catfish rodeo registration, 9 a.m.-10 a.m. with fishing from 10 a.m.-11a.m. The child who catches the most fish wins a prize.

Paws for the Cause 5K run, Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, 8 a.m., Veterans Park, 4750 Valleydale Rd., Hoover, AL. Fees 5K - $25, 1 Mile Fun Run/Pet Walk-$10. Registration Closing Date, Wed., Sept. 9, 2009. This non profit organization helps raise money for Shelby County Humane Society.
